About Us
The Surrey Rural Partnership (SRP) was established in May 2007 to promote Surrey’s rural interests. Its main aims are to:
- Provide a focal point and leadership for rural matters through an active forum of organisations that represent Surrey’s diverse rural interests;
- To champion Surrey’s rural interests by influencing and monitoring strategies and programmes which impact upon rural Surrey;
- To attract inward investment from regional and national programmes to strengthen Surrey’s rural communities, economy and countryside.
The SRP draws its membership from public sector and private sector organisations which provide rural services and/or represent the interests of particular sectors of rural Surrey. From the outset, we have tried to ensure that membership is inclusive, representative and engaged.
Through its sponsored groups and programmes, the SRP has secured and manages an investment of over £3.0million over the next five years to strengthen the county’s rural economy and rural communities.

- Rural Access to Services Programme (RASP)
- Surrey Rural Towns Programme
- Rural Housing Group
The SRP’s core project to reconstruct the Surrey Rural Strategy, together with its series of Farm Studies, is revealing key initiatives that must be pursued to protect and strengthen Surrey’s rural interests. A key component of its advocacy role is engagement with the Surrey Strategic Partnership to ensure that the Surrey Community Strategy and related programmes are applied equitably to rural communities.
